Has anyone had any success getting KDE 2.2.x to work with XFree 3.3.x? I'm running a Slackware 7.1 box with kernel 2.2.17 (with glibc 2.2). Gnome 1.4 seems to be working just fine using the packaged tarball from Slack, but KDE keeps complaining about being unable to find a missing library module. I've tried to keep everything pertinent in LD_LIBRARY_PATH, from obvious ones like KDEDIR/lib and QTDIR/lib/qt, and not so obvious ones like the Mesa libaries, but no dice. Is this just not "workable"? Upgrading to XFree 4.2.x is not an option at the moment since my graphics card is not fully supported yet. My last resort would be to compile the KDE sources instead of installpkg'ing the tarballs from Slack.
