Well, I ditched Win98 tonight. I was dual booting before, but I decided to see if I can live without the "other" OS. After deleting the Win98 partition from my system, I reinstalled Mandrake 7.2 to use the entire drive.

On my previous Linux install, I was using the Aquatica theme from kde.themes.org. According to the creator, I have to copy a certain file to /.kde/share/apps/kstyle/blah...blah... I did that, and was able to use the theme.

After reinstalling 7.2 tonight, I no longer have a .kde directory. Any suggestions?

Well you have two options. There is a legacy theme importer in KDE2, the other option is, if you are ok with playing with source code, there is a theme manager for KDE2 on the KDE CVS tree.
