Halo..

Distro: Debian, Woody.
WM: Fluxbox.

Problem:
Blackbox is started instead of Fluxbox and savings aren't saved when I exit Fluxbox.

What I've done:
I created a .xinitrc in my home directory and placed
"exec /usr/bin/fluxbox"
Fluxbox has the proper permissions and such for me to start.

I would like to be able to start fluxbox at my main window manager and I would also like to save the settings of fluxbox.

Regards,
Alex

Eh, nevermind. I should just read more carefully on their website.

I figured it out.
I think.

Ok, I take that back. I figured out the FluxBox problem, however, it still starts blackbox when I log in.

It's using the xdm program when it starts up, which is the graphical login program for debian and other distros I believe. I would like to just start in text mode.
Init somewhere?

Regards,
Alex

To start in text mode by default, edit your initdefault variable to 3 in the startup file (whose name I can't remember ATM)

To start flux instead of blackbox from xdm, probably the best way is to alter the blackbox symlink to point to fluxbox instead. (Sorry, quick but ugly solution ;) )
