hi...
just done install RH6.1 (finally, after 3 weeks trying) dual boot with win98... i'm still new with this linux thing, so please bear with me..
this is a dumb question, but i couldn't find it anywhere else...
How do i change the resolution for my gnome desktop? i've choosen 800x640 during install, and now i wanted to raise it to 1024.. Please don't tell me to reinstall since i have no idea what i did to finish the last installation...

thanks

hello,
only a most drastic situtation requires we reload, like forgetting to put ext2 support in the kerel you just compiled, installing this new kernel and deleting the one. Your problem is easy!!!

just run Xconfigurator, or if you want a bit more control xf86config, editiing /etc/X11/XF86Config will give the most control, but is not for everyone.

Or an even friendlier tool:
XF86Setup

open up a terminal/console window and (su to root if you aren't already root, which you shouldn't be) simply type XF86Setup, Xconfigurator, or xf86config. Remember - case matters, so use upper and lowercase where I did.

Oh yeah, and then hit <enter> http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
