Has anybody seen other articles talking about this? The reason I'm asking is that I'm positive I read about this months ago and the link (http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/entrepreneur.html?s=smallbiz/articles/20010514/microsoft_ackno) on the front page is to an article that doesn't have a date.

The other thing is that it says to delete dvwssr.dll. I checked M$'s knowledge base to see if they have any info on it and they have several security bulletins about that dll and they make it sound like it's a dll that actually does something. So regardless of whether or not it has a security problem, should you delete something that's going to make the rest of your stuff stop working? I don't know, just sounded odd to me.

Anyway, if this is true, then it hardly a suprise. Of course, they blame it on a couple of engineers, because they can't possibly admit that they put it in there on purpose.

I posted Sensei about this tonight around 5 PM CST. I don't know if it was news worthy of LNO though....

And oh, the date was 5/14/2001 on the article I saw (looked like the same one you saw 11000)

YOu mean from the front page? I guess Sensei must've taken it down just after I posted this thread.

Yeah, I saw the date in the URL, but I couldn't find any links to the article from yahoo's website, and I couldn't find confirmation of the article anywhere else.

And like I said in the first post, I'm positive I've read an article about this a while back.
