Hello,
want to be able to send mail with mailto. Responses to my previous posts say I need to set up my mail system, but I don't know where to start with this. Could anyone tell me if I need to use Sendmail or postfix and where can I find out how to set them up.
Using: mandrake 7.2
Thank you

What's mailto? Is it a mail client or part of an HTML tag?
As for setting up a mail server, Sendmail is generally installed with every distribution and it works fine right away most of the time. One way to check if you've got sendmail running is simply: telnet localhost 25
If you get a reply from sendmail, then try to send an email to yourself or some other account using "pine" or whatever other email client you use. Just make sure that you specify the SMTP server to be localhost.
If you really want to learn about Sendmail, you should pick up the Sendmail book by O'Reilly (it's got a bat on the front cover). It's a huge thick book. You can't miss it.
