edit your XF86Config-4 file
go to the section marked as InputDevice
add this line
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

Then I would strongly recommend that you get a good book on Linux. Running Linux, by O'Reilly, is a real good book to give you a good start with Linux.

Cheers :)

Well then, get started breaking stuff! Only way to learn! Plan on spending lots of time, and forget about learning linux in a hurry, unless you're some kind of savant. It's worth it, though.

Regarding being able to use all the buttons on your mouse, here's a hint: check the LNO homepage and see if any of the links look like they might help. I have a 5 button mouse and I can use all the buttons. My games recognize the two side ones, even.

Here's a nice link for you to learn more about your mouse and how it works in linux. Take the time to learn the basics like editing files, shell commands, the linux file tree, etc. Mouse/USB info here (http://webpages.charter.net/decibelshelp/LinuxHelp2.html)

and change the Protocol "ps/2"
to "imps/2" that should do the trick but if it doesn't hers a link to a page that helped me!
