Does anyone know how I can burn CD's in vmware? My guest host is Win98...host is Mandrake 7.2...right now Win98 sees my CD-RW drive as a regular CD-Rom

I really would urge you to check the FAQ at www.vmware.com (http://www.vmware.com) (since you haven't revealed how much you have checked before posting here?) :D

Thanks...I checked out the VMware site as you suggested, they don't have a troubleshooting section for VMware express (whic i'm using and i forgot to mention) but i looked int he trouble shooting for the regular VMware and they said that it don't support CD-RW drives yet. I'm assuming the same is true for express....what a bummer...Thanks for your help! :)

Why don't you just burn your cd's from inside linux??? Its really pretty easy if you kernel is already set up for it. And if not, its not a big deal either. In your kernel selection disable ATAPI/CDROM Support, enable SCSI support, generic scsi support, and scsi cdrom support. And then get your self a nice graphical program like xcdrom or gcombust.

I would like to but VMware creates a virtual disk, which from what i've read so far cannot be accessed or is very hard to (if possible) in linux. I did however try win4lin, that seems to work much better so far.

Share the stuff in windows in vmware, and mount it in linux with samba, providing you have networking set up you are in buisness and can share away.
