SANE and old scanners

Hi - i have a a canoscan fb 630P scanner - it connects through parallel port - and was wondering if anyone could tell me if SANE/XSANE works with old scanners like this.
I got a terrible feeling it doesn't...

it would appear that this scanner is NOT supported.

HOWEVER, that's what you would conclude for my scanner as well, which in fact works just fine with SANE 1.0.5 and XSANE 0.79

The link below lists a Linux driver for that make/model of scanner.
