I'm not completly new to linux, but i haven't played with it for at least 5 years.

Can it read NTFS formatted drives? i have this drive that has ALL my stuff on it, and it would be nice to keep all that AND still be able to read it in linux.

Yes, you'll need to build support for it into your kernel and you will need to mount it read-only though. Writing to NTFS does bad things from what I understand.
