I'm trying to get the built in sound on my motherboard (biostar M7MIA) which has an Analog Devices AC'97 CODEC chip onboard.
I have tried both 2.4.2 and 2.4.9 kernels.
The via82cxxx_audio driver should work.
What happens in that when I try to play an mp3 with mpg123 I get this message
unsupported playback rate: 44100
Audio device open for 44.1Khz, stereo, 16bit failed
Trying 44.1Khz, 8bit stereo.
unsupported playback rate: 44100
Audio device open for 44.1Khz, stereo, 8bit failed
Trying 48Khz, 16bit stereo.
and the sound is really crappy and laged about 1/2 a second.
I have tried to get the alsa drivers to work on my system but cant seem to get them to install properly. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the direction are out of date (the latest INSTALL file is for the 2.2 kernel)
