Mandrake boot questions

Ver 7.2 when starting up runs a bunch of configuration checks. Are all these necessary or can I and how do I shut some off????

Each one of those test are starting up services like samba, your ethernet card, apache...etc. Now the checks on your HD are required and the same with bus and memory, the kernel are dependent on those resources so much that if they aren't just right it will get upset and spit at you. good luck
