I have Redhat 7.2 with the Ximian desktop and the latest Realplayer (alpha) but can not get the plugins to work. I tried to configure helper apps using information from the NHF, Real, and Dejanews. They are all similar in that you provide the file extention and mime type. Clicking on a link for streaming audio does spawn a player and works fine, but embeded files like on cnn.com will not work. "About Plugins" does not show the realplayer plugin even though it is in the plugin directory (/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins).

Are you certain that /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins is the correct directory for your Mozilla install? Where did you install your 0.9.5 Mozilla files?

Mozilla is part of the default Redhat 7.2 install and is updated by Ximian. That said, I am pretty sure that is the correct directory. Doing a "locate plugin" did not reveal another plugin directory for Mozilla. Also, when I installed the JRE.xpi the files were installed into that directory and that shows up in the "About Plugins".

Usually for Mozilla all you have to do to install plugins is to create a link to [a] file(s) in the plugin directory. What plugins do you have in your plugin directory now?

Bug 56464 on bugzilla seems to indicate compiler problems are the trouble for realplayer plugins not working. To that end I downloaded the source rpm "mozilla-0.95-ximian.1.src.rpm" and tried build the source by running "rpm --rebuild", which resulted in the following build error.
RPM build errors:
File not found: /var/tmp/mozilla-0.9.5-root/usr/lib/mozilla/components/xsl_doc.xpt

Well the problem is that RealPlayer 9 (RealOne Player) don't play well togther. After unistalling RealPlayer 9 and installing RealPlayer 8 (the .bin version) I now have plugins for Mozilla.
To bad the RealOne player was cooler.
