Does anyone have the rpms for the earlier free versions of wordperfect. Corel appears to have changed its distribution set up to word perfect 9.0 bundled with an office suite for a bunch of cash. I need this for compatibility with my office, Unfortunately after three months of getting linux to work for me, I'm going to have to go back to winblows if I can't find this. I've looked around the net and can't find tar files or rpms. I'm running redhat 7.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Dont't use word perfect. It sucks. Use Abiword or Star Office. If you still want word perfect remember Maximum Linux putting it on one of their CDs before but i can't remember which one.

If you can't answer the question, then don't reply.

Many people like wordperfect, and think that Abiword and Star Office actually suck.

Anyway, I've tried looking for wordperfect RPMs and couldn't find any because I want to install it on MDK. Anyway, enough people have said try installing the wordperfect RPM to suggest there is an RPM around there somewhere...

Have you tried installing the bin file you can down load from Corel. BTW, I have the second edition of Maximum Linux that had WordPerfect 8 on it. It works like a charm. I've used WP since 5.0 DOS. and have 6.1 loaded on my Win3.1 side. You just have to make sure to load the libc5 rpm and the ld rpm first to get it to install. Aside from that it runs good as always. If you need help I've gotten good at loading it and tweaking it. I'll take a look though. I think I found a message once pointing to a WP rpm. I'll be back with that message.

If you really wanna try the rpm I found it at Caldera's site. Here's the link right to it and some others like Star Office 5.0. If you want I can find the link to the download from Corel for the .tar.gz file.
