'Hi, I have a Compaq Armada 1750 (PII-366, 192Mb RAM, ATI 3D Rage LT Pro) laptop and am trying to install Mandrake 8.1. It all installs with no problem, except when it reboot, I get a memory dump instead of going into KDE. The dump just continues non-stop, so I have to turn the computer off to get back to Windows using the BootLoader. I cannot get to the Linux command line, either. Since everything goes by so fast, I can see where in the text that something is failing. It does the same in FailSafe mode. Any help out there? Email me at kinerf@yahoo.com Thanks for any help! Try looking for your laptop at www.linux-laptop.net (http://www.linux-laptop.net) so see if others have had similar problems installing Linux and any suggestion they may have.

A Google search for your laptop may also help.
