Surprisingly my Mdk8.0 install with a Logitech iFeel mouse(USB) attached won't detect the mouse !!!
The iFeel mouse does however get detected by RH7.1 during installation.
Anyone got any ideas how to get Mdk8.0 to recognise the USB iFeel mouse during installation? Are there any parameters that can be thrown at boot: at the start of the mdk8.0 install???
Thanks in advance

I have the exact same mouse and have not been able to get it to work with any Linux flavor yet. Does it work ok with RH 7.1? If so, then I'm pickin up RedHat fo sho! (btw: I haven't used RH since 5.2! :D )
Right now I'm in Mandrake again after a brief brain vacation in MS land. But I'd really like to get the laser mouse workin in Linux also. If you come up with a solution, please lemme know.

Yep, the iFeel mouse works in RH7.1
Even though the wheel works, it is identified as a USB Generic mouse and RedHat mouseconf (or is it config) won't accept a change to USB Wheel mouse - strange.
BTW, RH7.1 is not half bad, which is a bit of a surprise. However, I still find that if during install you elect to use Kde as default desktop then some things get a bit fscked up. Also, I've noticed that RH has developed some of Mdk's traits in that despite selecting certain packages to be installed during installation they aren't after the installation. I've also noticed that installing any packages after the install using package manager causes a "package error" box to come up!!
I sure would like to get the iFeel mouse to be recognised by and to work in Mdk8.0 during install, coz presently I have to physically change the mouse over to an old PS/2 one when I want to use Mdk8.0
Personally, I think it's very unusual that Mdk8.0 doesn't recognise the iFeel mouse - but then again that opinion doesn't help much
at the end of the day.

MDK8 does recognize the plain Logitech Optical Wheel mouse. You should be able to install with a plain mouse, then connect the USB Ifeel and set it up manually.
Will give that a try.
This iFeel mouse issue is really starting to get on my goat!
I think Mandrake sorta fscked up the mouse detection during install with version 8.0
