Hi everyone,

Im just starting out with the Linux OS and have a copy of Redhat 7.0 and Mandrake 7.1.
Trouble is when Mandrake gets to the monitor setup i can select any monitor type and when i confirm it i just get a blank screen with the monitor GUI telling me that the vertical and horizontal frequency is way out of range! :(
I get the same with Redhat too - as Anaconda is probing my monitor in the early stages of setup the screen goes blank with the same as Mandrake :(
Ive tried monitor types that have lower frequencies than mine but still get the same.

This has really put a stop to my Linux experience before its even started :mad:

If anybody can offer me any workrounds for this would be very much appreciated.

Oh yeah, my monitors a Iiyama 15" S500M1.

Thanx,

rockhard =)

Is it possible to just choose a generic monitor? Mine's made by Future Power, and I just chose generic 1024/768 and it worked beautifully.
