I just got a wireless network setup (RG-1000 from wavelan/lucent and an orinoco card) which as an 11 Mbit transfer rate http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif merry x-mas to me. anyhow, i've gotten it to work under win2k on my laptop (dell inspiron 5000 if it makes any diff). well i don't really use windoz and i'd like to get it running under linux mandrake 7.1 or better yet 7.2. the docs on their site SUCK but do say it is supported. Anyone done it, and how. Do I need to recompile the kernel for pcmci support? thanks.

yah, you are gonna need pcmcia support, and i am not sure about the various protocols that the wireless will use (802.11 i think?) - i think there is a wireless howto, but whether it relates to phat connections or for localnet stuff like you are using I don't know.

Good luck.
