Ok, my SCSI card (which I though to work with the aha152x.o module) actually works with the aha1542.o module. The problem is, the module takes about half an hour to run through the modprobe aha1542 and then, hangs the system. It detects the card when the probe runs, but, it doesn't detect on startup.
any ideas?
anyone set one of these up before? I think I almost have it.
thanks

I assume your root fs is on hard drive hooked to AHA controller and that's why you get the problem.Make sure to have SCSI support/disk/controller built in kernel saying Y to the option will do it.Some things can't be made as module or else your kernel will fail upon booting.Hope this helps.

Actually, no, the root fs is on an IDE disk (the machine is 133 Mhz). The root fs is on a 4.3 GB drive, so that the machine can boot. It has a 40 GB IBM drive (which the BIOS sees as 8.33 GB) and this drive is 17GB, but, I am so fed up with it, that, I just ordered a PCI controller in which the module handles everything (I have a friend who has one, this uses the aic7xxx.o module.)
