You could tar/untar it, or just copy it. One problem you will encounter is that your /etc/fstab will no longer have the correct device entries, and so you will need to edit them before booting to the moved system.

Don't hose it off the old drive - you may be better off reinstalling and copying over your configs and such.

Hi:

As ph34r suggests, it may be easiest (and faster to reinstall.

Also, Ghost 2001 has support for ext2 filesystems.

Good Luck

Well, this really won't help you http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif since it's expensive ($495.00 US) but it is nice to know for the sysadmins out there:

I run a hybrid network (Linux, Novell, NT) and I find that Server Magic is indispensible for me. It understands ALL of them and more. Makes doing such a thing trivial.

Just FYI...

Got a URL for that? We do a LOT of ghosting for the labs at the school I work at, and we are always looking for something better/cheaper/faster.

It is from our fine friends at PowerQuest...

http://www.powerquest.com/products/

Odd though, I have v3.0 and it does all types, but they are now advertising "Novell" and "NT" products separately...

no clue... try to find v3.0
