I am running Mandrake and have a FreeCom IDE CD Writter, does any one out there know of any software which i can use on linux to make it work.

You need to set up SCSI emulation for it. CD-Writing-HOWTO (http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CD-Writing-HOWTO.html).

Are you running Mandrake 7.2? If so, the CD Writer should be detected and configured when you installed Mandrake (if the CD Writer is supported).
Then you should be able to start burning by using e.g. 'gtoaster' or 'xcdroast' (also already installed in Mandrake 7.2)

I do have Mandrake 7.2, so i shall try the recommended software.

I guess i will report back if i have problems (which i probably will :mad: !!!!)
