Can I just plug in a PC screen, or do I need a "special" screen? SolarFlux 11-15-2000, 01:29 PM Don't do it! IPXs are a waste of cash and time (slow). You can get a Sparc 10 or 20 for very reasonable prices on ebay. But, if you must, you have two options regarding video: 1) Get a SUN monitor, since it has a special (13W3) connector. 2) Get a 13W3-to-VGA adaptor and then you can use a standard monitor. Glaurung 11-15-2000, 04:23 PM Don't do it! IPXs are a waste of cash and time (slow) Thanks for the advice! I have no knowledge whatsoever on sun hardware, so this is a real help to me. The other things I can get are a Classic and a S20. What's the classic like? SolarFlux 11-15-2000, 04:59 PM Basically the same as an IPX: worthless. Check around on ebay for prices and pics and also look at http://www.sunsunsun.net for info/pics on IPXs and Classics. Calvin_1976 11-15-2000, 07:33 PM Sparc classic isnt totaly useless. I have one that makes a great ftp server and caching name server for my network. If you are going to want to use it with X any I would suggest at least a sparc 5, 10, or 20 though. justlinux.com
