Hi!
:-)
Beginner with Linux and can't seem to get my serial microsoft mouse to work, no matter what IRQ or I/O address.
I got an old dual Pentium I motherboard with COM's on ISA controller card. I think maybe the ports may not been installed. Jumpers checked and IDE part of card respons well.
What to do??
BW, ;-)

Dumb question, but hey.

Are you sure that its looking in the right place/dev/ttyS(0/1/2/3), and not /dev/mouse, which could by symlinked to /dev/psaux or something
