New one on me. I got a 3Com 3c905b pci nic. I found on the 3com site (answering one of my old posts from two weeks ago why it didn't work) that my nic requires busmastering to be enabled or the nic won't work. So what is it (I know this might be academic to some but this is the first time running into this for me) And does anyone with a Shuttle 519-hot mobo or an HP know if busmastering is available? I'm at work now and I'm gonna check tomorrow if so, just looking for a little knowledge on the subject.

The motherboard manual should tell you which slots have bus mastering. On some older boards, not all slots have bus mastering so you need to check to see which ones do.
The bios may also have options for this.

Well it took some digging. Not in the ususal spots. Turns out the Shuttle board has integrated busmastering, that's why I couldn't find it. It's automatic. And the brio busmastering switches are hidden in wierd places in the bios setup. Got it setup and I got the nic to work, but only when I disable the existing nic. Now i've got a new question I'm gonna search the forums on, using dual nics in a lan. I checked the nhf's and didn't see anything. If I don't find any other queries I'll put a new q on.

You should be able to just add
alias eth0 <module name>
alias eth0 <other module name>
to /etc/modules.conf.
I believe there are a couple of Internet sharing NHF's in the Networking Section that may help.

Wait was that a typeo or did you mean to have both nics register as eth0? I set them up through netconf and everything seemed fine but I had the 3com set as eth1 with the 3c5x9 module.

Sorry about that, You are correct. My mind said eth1 for the second one, but my fingers typed eth0.
alias eth0 <module>
alias eth1 <other module>
