Hello group,
I have searched the Mandrake site for hardware compatibility for my gear, unfortunately I can not determine if my hardware is compatible. Below is the inventory, any help is appreciated. I would like to use 8.2.
Currently using win 98. Also is USB 2.0 and Firewire supported?

AMD 400 K-6lll
2940 U2W SCSI
IBM SCSI h/d
Plextor SCSI c/d
Generic IDE c/d
Yamaha SCSI C/DRW
Viper 770
Kyocera Laser Printer
Canon Inkjet
Umax Scanner
Belkon USB Hub
Zip Drive
SoundBlaster Sound Card
Toshiba Cable Modem

Thanks
Henry

USB 2.0 and firewire is supported. The only thing from your list that I'm not certain about are the printers and the cable modem. Is this an internal card? If so you might have to hunt for drivers from the manufacturer. If it's external and you connect via ethernet to it, then it will most certainly work. The printers SHOULD work using CUPS though. Since you didn't provide a model number, I can't be very specific :D. The scanner should work using SANE, although it depends on the model.

To find out if your Umax scanner is supported

Kyocera Laser Printer
If yours understands PCL like most Kyocera laser printers then it will work for sure. I think all canon inkjets are supported. As for the cable modem if you are using it with an ethernet hookup instead of the usb connection there should be no problem. You will have to do some digging to find if the usb will work.
