hello everyone,
I would just like to ask if anyone was able to make an Epson Perfection 1250 USB scanner to work under linux?
I'm currently using RH7.2 at home.
TIA

Bad news (http://www.buzzard.org.uk/jonathan/scanners-usb.html). This very model is not supported by sane :(
Good News! The Epson Perfection 1250 [Photo] scanner is now supported by Epson. They have a Linux specific driver/front end Image Scan (iscan), and also Photo Image Print System (pips) for their inkjet printers (eg Stylus) and GS Laser Printer for their laser printers. Although officially unsupported they provide a BBS for support. See the Epson web site to get the drivers and all:

The bad news is that I've only been able to get it to work using the plustek driver under sane. Dark scans but good after tweeking brightness and contrast. When I get iscan working I'll post what I've found out. If you are also fighting to get iscan working email me and we can pound our heads together untill they bleed.
