Anyone wanna explain to me how i can configure my master riptide audio card that i have on my pc for mandrake linux 8.0. My control setting in mandrake dont' even recognize that i have a soundcard whatsoever. I'm somewhat new and just go the nic to work so i can be on the internet. I'd appreciate any help at all! Thanks a bunch!

I've never heard of Riptide. Is it a isa, pci card or on the motherboard?

Have you tried their website for any Linux drivers? A Google search may find something. www.google.com/linux (http://www.google.com/linux)

It's pci, it came distributed with HP on my computer when i bought it, and yes i checked the site for drivers and had no luck whatsoever.

Did you try running sndconfig?

it's probably all proprietary and won't work with linux, try to get a cheap little SB 16 or 32 or something for like what $10 or so

I've got an old sb32 card from an old P90 that i have lying around, is it possible to run two soundcards on the same machine? Because i'm duel booting to win me and linux mandrake 8, would this be possible without hardware conflicts?
