Im completely new to linux, I have no Idea how to install drivers and configure a network card in mandrake 6 . my card is a Linksys TX100. Any Suggestions as to where I start?

Being that Mandrake 6 is quite old and the TX100 would be newer than your distro, you have a few choices.

One thing to do is make sure PnP OS is disabled in the bios.

1. If your hardware is fairly recent (PII, PIII etc. with 128MB) you may find Mandrake 8.1 would help. It would probably support the TX100 out of the box.

2. Do you have the Linux drivers for the TX100 on the driver diskette or they are most likely downloadable from the Linksys site. You will have to compile your own drivers providing Mandrake 6 will support those drivers. The kernel source and the c compiler will need to be installed if they haven't already been. Also the kernel version (uname -r) will have to match the drivers you are compiling.
