does anyone know where to get recent modem drivers? I run RedHat 7.1 with kernel 2.4.2-2 and Intel HaM Modem MD563X. The only drivers I've found are for 2.2.x, and I don't know how to downgrade (not like I want to) or reinstall another distrobution. Any help would be highly appreciated!

I'm using the same modem. You can get more recent drivershere (http://www.linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/Intel-v92ham-415.tar.gz). I think the above link works but if not I can email the driver to you.

it doesn't work, email it to me: daizenshu@hotmail.com. Can you be specific on what kernels it supports? Thanks!

It supports Redhat 7.1, Mandrake 8.0, and SuSE 7.2 kernel versions. I've just emailed it to you.

ok, it compiled correctly, but when I use my dialer it sends an ATZ string and says the modem hasn't responded. Any idea on this?

Did you ever get the modem to work? I was thinking about buying one since they are so cheap, but if there are no drivers...
Have you tried it in windows? Ifso, did it work well?

Yea, it worked under Windows, but not Windows XP. It was good, worked quite well for me. I've given up on Linux for the time being.
