I am using red hat 7.1 and installing on a 9166,64MBram, trident 9680 video w/2m video mem, and an IBM 8518 Monitor. I've used superprobe and l -probeonly to get the info on the trident, but after entering it in xconfigurator I get the configuration wrong error. The configurator picks up the trident card and selects XF86_SVGA as the server with a default as the Xfree4 driver.
I tried to bypass the test and do a startx, but I got a message that said fatal server error: "no mode for 640x480".
Does this mean the xf86_svga is corrupted, or needs a newer version?
