Where to get cheap, nice laptop?

I am interested in getting a laptop, probably an Athlon 1ghz w/ 256 ram. HD can be at least 10gb.
Does anyone have any suggestions of places to get one cheap? Perhaps somewhere that doesn't include an os?

I did see your question a couple of days ago, but didn't reply as I don't know of anyone that has built their own laptop.

I did not think it was possible as I've never seen any of the separate pieces available for sale except for the battery, hd, memory, floppy and cdrom.

I could tell you where to find one for a good price in Toronto, but that wouldn't help you much.

Hey I have a Toshiba Sattelite 410. P90 with 40meg of 60nS ram a 2gig harddrive and a 4x CDrom that I might be persuaded to sell :D

anyway there are plenty of resources on the net. Look around.
