I have recently installed the above 3D accelerator and have attempted to install it as per the NVIDIA website with the relevant drivers for my distro. I can get Tuxracer to work when logged in as root, but when I use my usual user account I just get the response "Segmentation failure".

Also, If tuxracer is working ok, does this mean that my 3D card is working or can this game be played without a 3D accelerator?

My setup:
Mandrake 8.0 Standard
Kernel 2.4.3
KDE 2.1.1
Pentium III 450MHz
64MB RAM

Is it fast or slow? If it is jerky then no 3d for you. If it si fast then yes, it does have 3d.

Thanks. It runs fast with no jerkyness atall. So I guess it's installed ok then. It's just in the Mandrake Control Centre Device Manager it says that the driver is the Mandrake generic one and not the NVIDIA one. Should that be of concern?
