Mandrake 8.0 and generic ps/2 mice

I can't get a generic ps/2 mouse to work under Mandrake 8.0! Is their any known bugs? Can anyone tell me how they got their mouse to work under Mandrake 8.0 (other than installing the OS)? I'm trying to install this distro on a friends computer but it isn't going so well :-(.

You could always edit the XF86Config file by hand. Look in /etc/X11/XF86Config and find the pointer section. Tell us what is there.
