When I'm trying to mount my cd burner, it creates an error message similar to:

can't mount /dev/cdrom1: wrong minor number

The device (which is scd1, but it's only SCSI emulation) has the following major/minor number: 11/1
My cdrom (scd0) has the numbers 11/0, is there something wrong with my burner's numbers?
And how do I create the appropriate ones?

Thank you for responding!

Try this thread: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=019962

And your major/minor numbers are OK.

Hmm, this thread didn't help much :(

I don't have a problem with my SCSI-emulation, it works fine with my CD-ROM. Only my CD-RW has a problem, but I did the same I did with my CD-ROM, so I don't think it's a problem of the emulation.
I think I'll reread now the CD-Burning-HOWTO, I think I remember there's something written about the major/minor numbers. But it still would be great if somebody has a quick answer ;)

Okay, if they are okay, I'll have to find out the real problem!

Did you recently mess with the drives? (Like move'em or add/remove something inside your box?)

Try making your CDRW 'master' on the IDE channel...I've read that SOME people have problems with that.

I think I'll try that. Maybe it is a physical problem, at the moment when I try to mount it nothing happens, but my box freezes after, let's say, 7 seconds! I really don't know why THIS is happening!!
