Well Im getting there slowly but surely.. I talked to my ISP.. They are using PAP/CHAP, and they said that if I tried to login on a terminal that it accesses a diffrent administrative system so that is why I get "** Host Currently Unavailible **" while trying to debug with minicom. Im trying to get ppp working with kPPP or even pppsetup, but here is my ppp output:

ppd[1609]: Serial connection established.
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module tty-ldisc-3
pppd[1609]: ioctl(TIOCSETD): Invalid argument(22)
kernel: Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.
pppd[1609]: Hangup (SIGHUP)
pppd[1609]: Exit.
kernel: Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.

I know that that ioctl error means that the connection has been disconnected.. But what the heck is that modprobe etc.

Can anyone help me? This is driving me nuts

Could you include some distro and hardware info? Your problem could be alot of things, so those little details could clarify many things.

What kind of modem are you using?
Internal/external?
