Hi all,
I tried to configure my burner last night and I failed miserably...and i don't understand why. I went to the mandrake site and followed the burner tutorial. My first problem came right at the beginning...i did the cdrecord -scanbus and it came back telling me that it was version 1.9 and that it could not open the SCSI driver and that i should try to run it again as root(which i was)...i tried going through the rest of the tutorial and putting in the line
cd /dev && rem cdrom2 && ln -s scd0 cdrom2 (or whatever is listed in the tutorial)...it totally did not work...
i even tried cding to the /mnt/cdrom2 afterwards and i got the response input/output error....
what do i do now? i have 2 cdroms, the /mnt/cdrom goes to my regular cdrom, and I am assuming that /mnt/cdrom2 goes to the burner...shouldn't cdrecord have at least seen the burner? even now it doesn't...i am so totally confused....
i appreciate any help.
thanks
