Where DO U recommend getting a cable modem?

I am looking for a cable modem. Price is of the essence, as I am Not high on the available cash scale http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif. Anyway, what do you people recommend?

or is it an option, like $29 without the box and $39 with the box?

Cableone.net in Pascagoula Mississippi. They offer a "rebate" on their cable service (tv not internet) if you buy a cablemodem from one of their "affiliate" computer suppliers. Sounds like bs to me. The cheapest I have been able to find so far is about $250.

You can try eBay or that type of place. Aside from that you'll just have to save the $250 for the equipment. Maybe time for a little temp job or part time.

I remember hearing that some radio shacks were offering "free" cable modems. But that was back in Dec. Good Luck.
