I just ordered a dual pentium motherboard today (soyotek sy-5th5)

I am a bit confused on the different types of pentium processors. The motherboard manual states that it supports P54CX (single voltage) pentiums and P55CX (dual voltage) pentiums.

The motherboard manual does not mention anything related to MMX. I was wondering, how does MMX fit in with P54CX and P55CX pentiums? Do all P55CX's come with MMX? Will a board that does not support MMX still work with an MMX processor (the motherboard just ignores the MMX?)

I would like to get MMX processors if they will work, not because they can offer more performance, but because on www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) they are cheaper than non-MMX pentiums.

Thanks,

Saai

IIRC
the dual voltage chips are the MMX
single voltage are not

have you found cpu's cheaper than these?
200Mhz not MMX $32
233Mhz MMX $39

Cool, thanks a lot.

I just ordered two 120mhz pentiums for $12 each at www.teamexcess.com. (http://www.teamexcess.com.) Figured I'd go cheap now, and wait till I can get 200mhz MMX's for about the same price.
