Hello all!

After searching around, I could not find any reference to this kind of problem so, I am really looking for some help.

I have a 3COM 5610 PCI modem. (non-winmodem) Finally got it installed and working in CLI mode, and can use it via minicom. However, once I start up KDE, it no longer functions. If I open a terminal and start up minicom, it does not respond. kppp reports the modem is busy, and if I just run pppd from a terminal I get garble on the screen.

Any ideas on this one?

Thanks!

Okay, got it figured out. Forgot one more device it was sharing and IRQ with -- the video card. After I fixed that, all was well. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif
