Installing PCI Hardware

I am attempting to install a netgear NIC in a Redhat 6.1 Linux box. It is a PCI card, however it does not apear in the lspci -v command's output. Shouldn't the system just detect this card without any other intervention. I am really new at configuring Linux machines. Also I am trying to use the tulip driver with it and I get messages like Device or resource busy when I try and insmod the tulip module. I am really lost at this point. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

What happened at boot time? Didn't 'kudzu' detect a new piece of hardware?

You have a resource conflict. Try turning off PnP in the BIOS and see if that helps.
