I have recently tried to install Caldera eDesktop 2.4 and RedHat 7.0. Both installs go fine except for the X install. Each try to install a version of XFree86 that is too old to support the GeForce2 MX. I have gotten farther with Caldera than Redhat so let me talk about that first. (be aware, I am definitely a newbie ehre!)

After the eDesktop install, I boot at runlevel 3. I install XFree86 4.0.2. I then can reboot, againat runlevel 3 and after logging in, I can type KDE and get it to run in 640x480 mode. As soon as I try to switch to ANY other video mode, I get a scrambled screen. From there on out, I cannot get back into KDE. The error message after every reboot is "Unsupport video mode 32bpp" or "Unsupported video mode 16bpp". Every video mode give me the same thing. I have installed the NVidia drivers with no error messages, yet still cannot get into KDE. RedHat, I have nenver gotten a graphical interface to work. I would relly love to get some help! Thanks!!
