how do i install this patch for highpoint-tech 370 controller, it is non raid i do not have a clue as i am a linux beginner i've got it on floppy, os is corel linux sec. ed. delux :eek:

Should tell you how. There are other ways instead of install a patch. Read the Ultra66 NHF at this site. It will work for the ATA100. And another one here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm that I used for my Promise ATA100.
