how do i install this patch for highpoint-tech 370 controller, it is non raid i do not have a clue as i am a linux beginner i've got it on floppy, os is corel linux sec. ed. delux :eek:

Is there not a README included with the patch? Should tell you how.
There are other ways instead of install a patch. Read the Ultra66 NHF at this site. It will work for the ATA100.
And another one here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm that I used for my Promise ATA100. Worked

You may be better off just ditching the Corel distro, and install one that has ATA66/100 support ...... like Mandrake 7.2.

just so happens i did that yesterday,i've asked around and nobody had anything good to say about corel, but i ordered the latest offering from suse cause i heard it was a good os for beginners,this before i heard mandrake was even better,maybe i'll get that to just to make sure :D
