I'm fairly new to the linux scene(about 4 months) and I've had to format my HD. I need to re-install windoze ME, but it records over the MBR. I've tried installing it first, but I always fubar the partitions. This time I wanted to install Mandrake 7.2 first, then doze.

The problem arises when I try to make a boot disk. It handles the ls-120 differently then all the other disk drives cause its on the IDE chain.

I went to see if it would even work and it doesn't. I've checked fstab and here is the line that I've found:

/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount fs=vfat,dev=/dev/hdb 0 0

I've look this up and have modified it, but this is the orginal line. Nothing I do seems to work. I've done these commands to mount:

mount -vt vfat /dev/hdb /mnt/floppy
mount -t vfat /dev/hdb /mnt/floppy
mount -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /mnt/floppy
mount -a (Following a umount -a) from a suggestion in a chat room.

I've even done the whole umount routine. I am very frustrated and this has been bugging me for a little while. Please Help!!!!

I have a LS120 plus the normal floppy drive and since I've never had the need to really use the LS120 in Linux, I haven't bothered to set it up properly.

You can find documentation on the LS120 here (http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm).
