This is my 3rd day with Mandrake and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! :D However my sound is not working... Is there some special way to set up the card in Mandrake 7.0??? I will be watching. :confused:

Two ways, go to the terminal and type soundconfig or go to the control panel, hardware and let it set it up from there, course if it's non-pnp you have to have the address and irq info and have lothar sound config installed. You could also go to lothar by itself and detect it. And then go to sounds (in control panel) and enable system sounds and then assign sounds to events.

actually, I believe it's "sndconfig". ;)

i'm having the same problem(SB16) but neither soundconfig nor sndconfig are recognised as commands.

i am runnings a Linux 7.2
and in DrakConfig the category sound is totally blank.

please help

in mandrake, you need to run sndconfig in the termnal (superuser) not in the konsole

:D KEWL I will try that tonite... Had another setback this weekend... The power went out this Friday and I got a nasty error when booting back up. :mad: To make a long story short I am back to basics now. :cool: Thanks for all of the help.

Yer right Macabre. Blame the Benadryl and I haven't had to use it in 7.0 since Lothar does the job for me.
