Okay, I hate to make my first post a request, but I really need some advice.
I've got a customer who wants me to build them a server but they'd rather not use NT. That's okay, because I'm getting sick to hell of it anyway.
Problem is I'd like to put a couple IDE drives on this box in a mirrored configuration, for some kind of basic data redundancy - does Linux itself support software RAID? If not does somebody out there make some kind of add-on?
Or, can somebody tell me how to make a Promise FastTrack work on one of these things? I've been trying to make my FastTrack work on my box but it doesn't seem to be supported (controller works, but as soon as I connect my mirrored drives it halts during IDE device detection during startup.)
ANY help would me much appreciated. Thanks.
