Has anyone had any luck with getting the 2.4.0-test9 kernel working on a Notebook with a k6-2 450 on an ALI chipset 1541 & 1533. I've been trying to play with this for about a week now with no luck, from what I tell looks like it might be an IRQ Routing issue, with first configuration I ever tried, the PCI: was detecting that the Ali 1533 IDE controller was on IRQ11, which is actually the SMI Graphics card, so I tried several configurations, I have enabled AGP support for the 1541 chipset, tried disabling the 15x3 IDE support and leaving just generic, disable PNP Bios, drop the proc type to 386, Disabled ACPI support, USB, etc, right after the PCI loads up, I get a scrolling error of get_random_bytes called before initialization of... (I've got the full error at home, I'm at work right now) I have tried reloading the source for the kernel, I'm running a fairly clean install of Slack 7.1, Anyone ever had any luck? I would prefer to get 2.4.x working so I can get proper USB support to sync my Visor and use a USB mouse without having to patch the heck out of 2.2.17. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Seth

Personally I think you are out of luck Seth, but I am bumping you in the hope someone else will see it and take note. The only other thing is maybe try experimental support enabled and compile a truly monolithic kernel.

LoL, thanks shad, maybe someone will read this now? I just wish notebooks didnt have such a limited bios... why dont they make Award bios's for notebooks?
