I have a Athlon 1G, ASUS A7v,
with G400 and SB live!value.

I installed the RH7.0.
Everything is ok except the sound card.
When I use sndconfig
it find the card but tell me
"Creative Lab SB live! EMU10000 is not currently supported"

Why? but I can find the emu10k1.o in
/usr/src/linux/...

I download the source from creative,
compile and failed, so strange.
Does anybody meet the same situation?
Please help me.

Did you compile using kgcc? That might be why.

I find the way.
Tun off the PNP OS option in BIOS,
Sndconfig find the card and the driver
work well.

I have been having problems. I am very new to Linux and haven't quite figured out the navigation. I downloaded the drivers and followed the how to instructions on this webpage. But I can never get emu10k1.o to come up. I know I have to edit something to get it to work, sound modifications, but where do I go to make the change?? and I can't get sndconfig to work either.

Yep, disabling PNP OS in Bios is the trick to get an SBLive! or CL SB PCI 512 to work. Glad to read that this works with more than one flavor of Linux!

smselos, this might work for you, too!
