I put in a new motherboard (Epox), AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor and when i tried to run Mandrake 8.1 it got to the login screen and flopped off and on and finally stopped and said it was waiting 5 minutes before trying again. It was respawning too fast. What is this? I have it set to automatically login on my name.

A quick search on www.google.com/linux (http://www.google.com/linux) using "respawning too fast" returns a lot of hits. Enjoy :)

You most likely need to reconfigure X.

LoL!! BTW, how come you can't say Google (http://www.google.com/linux) anymore? I remember I asked you, but I don't remember what thread it was in (I will TRY to remember this one :) )

Thanks... I still try to sneak one in once in a while.

Maybe I'll disguise them with

Seach Microsoft's Knowledgebase (http://www.google.com/linux) for your error message. ;)

Trust me next time David.

It only shows a different name than MS knowledgebase, but don't let that fool you. MS finally got their act together and are now providing Linux support. ;)

I solved the problem by re-installing and disabling the auto login. :)
