I'm about to buy a notebook for gaming.. er.. school, and I want to make sure it'll run Medal of Honor and RTCW, and whatever else... I don't really want to spend more than 1500, but it appears I may have to. I found this excellent site: http://computers.cnet.com/hardware/0-1027-404-8723679.html, and a fine machine at alienware.com, but both are a little pricey. There's also a decent Dell notebook for around 1300 that I saw in a mag ad. I definitely want a moble nvidia graphics card (unless someone can reccommend better). I'd rather not buy one that comes with XP (or other os), and I'd rather not get one that comes with an internet access plan. Basically, my requirement is that it be able to run games and have an ethernet card (10 base-T is quite enough for my purposes). Seen any deals.

 Alienware
They do make some of the best gaming systems out there. Falcon makes some really good ones also (I don't know about laptops though). The C|Net site is a good place to go when shopping for computers.

Try www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) and checkout the notebook section, I've seen some decent barebone laptops for sell there for around $600.

Thanks for the input.. i guess this is a bit offtopic, since it has very little to do with linux (though that's one of the OS's I'll be running on it..). Anyway, I'll try those links..
