TotalFoo 08-29-2001, 03:03 PM hey all, I've finaly gone broad band the only problem is they gave me a crapy usb network device and I have no clue how to set it up in linux. help please. u2mike 08-29-2001, 03:38 PM You need kernel 2.4.7 or later(the driver may be included in 2.4.6.but im not sure)when compiling it put support for the catc ethernet. If you dont have a catc(thats what I got from them)then a driver is probaly included in the newest kernels. Shameless Lowbagger 08-30-2001, 04:20 AM Will your modem hook up via ethernet cable? I bought my own modem cause @home charges me $10 less a month for not using theirs. I have a RCA DCM225 that works just fine. They had to send a tech out to enter the damn thing in their database though, and I still have to fax them a letter saying I got my own modem to get the $10 knocked off my bill. justlinux.com
